Childbirth Educator Seminar

Our 3-day seminar is designed for current educators who wish to update their teaching strategies, knowledge, and skills as well as those wanting to become Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators (LCCEs). At our training seminar, current research on maternity care practices is presented so that students will be confident presenting evidence-based information in their childbirth classes. Creative teaching strategies for group activities are presented, and students practice teaching with innovative teaching aids. Students will view and discuss informative audiovisuals and the effective use of PowerPoint for childbirth classes.

The seminars are taught by Debby Amis and Jeanne Green, co-authors of Prepared Childbirth –The Family Way and Prepared Childbirth –The Educators Guide. Seminars are usually offered twice a year in the Dallas, Texas area. Debby and Jeanne will also travel to your hospital or group.

Our childbirth education seminar satisfies a major step in the Lamaze educator certification program. ICEA also accepts this seminar as a step toward ICEA certification. You may enroll in only the seminar or you may apply for the Family Way Lamaze Childbirth Educator Program leading to Lamaze certification.
